Melinda, we can't use goldfish in Florida and I felt like I was doing something wrong the first time I used them in Georgia on Lake Blackshear. Once I used them and saw how Flatheads like them and how hardy they are it was the ticket. Give them a try you will get over it once a big flathead hits
